Clash Party FAQ and Troubleshooting

Troubleshoot installation, connection, startup, CPU and memory usage, reset settings, subscriptions and routing in Clash Party.

Installation

What if Windows Defender flags the download?

Verify the GitHub release source and system architecture. Do not disable system protection just to bypass a warning. If you cannot verify the file, stop and report the version and detection details to the maintainers.

Read the guide
What if macOS cannot verify the developer?

Check the release source and choose the matching Intel or Apple Silicon build. After verifying the source, follow the macOS Privacy & Security prompt. Do not bypass quarantine on an unverified application.

Connection

Why is there no internet after connecting?

Check subscription validity, traffic allowance and node latency. Try another node and check the system proxy and routing mode. If access also fails with the proxy disabled, troubleshoot the local network first.

Read the guide
How can I troubleshoot a slow connection?

Compare the local network, node latency and actual download performance. Try another region or time and pause other large transfers. Low latency does not guarantee high throughput; contact the provider if every node is slow.

Read the guide
What should I do about frequent disconnections?

Check local stability and compare another node. Keep the time and relevant logs. Report failures that affect the same node on multiple devices to the provider. Remove subscription URLs and credentials before sharing logs.

Configuration

How do I import a subscription?

Copy your provider’s subscription URL, paste it into the subscription or profiles section and import it. Activate the downloaded profile and check the node list. If importing fails, verify the URL and follow the guide.

How do I configure routing rules?

Add domain or IP rules through configuration overrides. Use policy-group names present in your profile and check rule order. See the custom-rules guide for syntax and examples.

How do I start Clash Party at login?

If your version offers start at login, enable it and verify after signing in again. You can also use the operating system’s startup-app or login-item settings. Avoid duplicate startup entries.

Performance

What can I do about high memory usage?

Identify whether the interface or proxy core uses the memory. Close unused log views and duplicate instances, and review configuration size. Save your configuration before restarting. Report sustained growth with sanitized logs.

How can I troubleshoot high CPU usage?

Identify the process with the system task manager. Pause large downloads or bulk latency tests and compare usage. Check continuous errors, repeated connections or duplicate clients, then report the version and reproduction steps.

Troubleshooting

What if the application will not start?

Check OS compatibility and installer architecture, record the error and consult the platform guide. Back up configuration before reinstalling. Avoid deleting data directories or disabling security software without identifying the cause.

Read the guide
How do I reset application settings?

Back up subscriptions, rules and settings. If your version provides a reset option, review what it removes. Fully quit the client and confirm its actual configuration directory before manual changes; do not delete a guessed path.

Windows Quick Start Guide

Firewall & Network Permissions

On first run, Windows Firewall may prompt for access. Ensure both "Private networks" and "Public networks" are checked and click "Allow access", otherwise connection may fail.

Windows Defender False Positive?

Due to the nature of proxy software, it may trigger false positives in Defender. If downloaded from an official source, allow the threat in Protection History or whitelist the program directory.

System Proxy Not Working?

Check Windows Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy. Ensure "Use a proxy server" is ON, and address is 127.0.0.1 with the port matching software settings (default 7890).

macOS Quick Start Guide

Cannot Open App?

Please refer to the Security Prompt in Step 2. This is a standard macOS security mechanism for non-App Store apps. Ensure you downloaded from an official source.

System Proxy Not Working?

Check System Settings > Network > Proxies. Ensure HTTP and HTTPS proxies are enabled, and the address is 127.0.0.1 with the port matching software settings (default 7890).

TUN Mode Permissions

When enabling TUN mode, a "System Extension Blocked" prompt may appear. Please go to System Settings > Privacy & Security to allow the system extension.

Linux Quick Start Guide

Desktop Proxy Settings (Manual)
  • GNOME: Settings > Network > Network Proxy > Configure HTTP/HTTPS/SOCKS
  • KDE: System Settings > Network Settings > Proxy > Enable and fill in ports
Command Line Proxy (As Needed)

Add to ~/.bashrc or ~/.zshrc:

export http_proxy="http://127.0.0.1:8080"
export https_proxy="http://127.0.0.1:8080"
export all_proxy="socks5://127.0.0.1:1080"
export no_proxy="localhost,127.0.0.1,::1"
Cannot Start?

Ensure the AppImage has execution permissions; run in terminal to check error output.

Cannot Connect?

Switch nodes, check subscription status or firewall rules.

TUN Support?

For system-level proxy, ensure the kernel has the tun module loaded (lsmod | grep tun).

Subscription Setup Guide

Import failed or no response?
  • Check if the link is in Clash/Mihomo format.
  • Confirm internet connectivity and that the link is not blocked.
  • Try again later or contact your provider to check subscription status.
Node list empty or incorrect?
  • Subscription may be expired or have insufficient permissions.
  • Provider might be maintaining or adjusting the node list.
  • Try updating again or contact your provider.
Rules not working after update?
  • Subscription might not contain rules and proxy groups.
  • Refer to "Next Steps" to learn about routing rules.
Only browser works?
  • System proxy might be the only active mode.
  • For other apps not using system proxy, enable TUN Mode in the client (if supported).

Routing Rules Mode and Configuration

Rule Mode vs. Global Mode?

"Rule Mode" is recommended for daily use. Use "Global Mode" when troubleshooting or if your subscription lacks rules.

What if my subscription has no rules?

You can ask your provider for a Clash subscription that includes rules and proxy groups, or temporarily use "Global Mode".

Can I run it with other proxy clients?

Not recommended. It may cause conflicts with System Proxy, TUN, or Ports (e.g., 7890/7891), leading to connection issues.

Do I need Administrator privileges?

Usually only when enabling TUN Mode or other system-level networking features. Standard System Proxy usage typically does not require it.
